Horsehead M20
The Trifid Nebula
Horsehead

Date: September 7, 2001
Exposure: RRGB : 9 x 300s R, 9 x 300s G, 9 x 360s B
Processing: MaxIm DDP and color combine, CCDSharp (1 iteration of each individual layer), Stretch, PMView for color balance, Photoshop 5.5 for JPG web conversion
Conditions: Good, skies were clear and transparency was better than usual.
Scope: Vixen 102mm Flourite, F/6.5, 2.288 arcsec/pix measured with TheSky
Camera: SBIG ST-237A, -10°, Vixen 6.3 Focal Reducer
Comments: My first try at this one. Just started using the ST-237A and the Vixen for wider FOVs. This gives a nice framing. I need some more experience on this camera and will be taking more images of the Trifid to improve this effort.
