Date: July 21, 2001
Exposure: RGB : 6 x 300s R, 6 x 300s G, 6 x 480s B
Processing: MaxIm for image acquisition, AIP4WIN for Dark, Flat, and Bias calibration, Photoshop for final balance and JPG web conversion.
Conditions: Good, the sky settled down after 11:00 and gave up acceptable conditions for this shot.
Scope: C14 @ f/7
Camera: SBIG ST-9E, -25°, Celestron 6.3 Focal Reducer, Hutech LPS Filter
Comments: My third try at this one. More is better. The "wings" are now visible! Using the information from the Handbook of Astonomical Image Processing (AIP4WIN) - Use darks 4-5 times the duration of the image. I took 15 darks at 1200 sec and median combined. I was able to get a smoother background. Plus, I am learning more about DDP, streching, and Histogram manipulation
